Job description
As a Digital Content Integration Assistant, you will be part of Homo Faber Guide team at the Michelangelo Foundation.
Homo Faber Guide is a curated digital platform which maps exceptional craftsmanship around the world. Launched in 2020, this free online tool allows users to explore travel destinations through contemporary craft, find craft addresses, create city itineraries and connect directly with artists and makers to buy objects, place commissions or partake in experiences. Presented by the Michelangelo Foundation, the platform showcases thousands of talented artisans, from glass blowers to mask makers, paper sculptors to silversmiths. Newly selected makers appear weekly, and new countries are added throughout the year.
To publish new artisan profiles weekly and maintain existing ones, the Digital Content Integration Assistant adheres to team processes, supports the team in addressing challenges, and proactively suggests improvements.
Main responsibilities:
· Data Integration and Control on Salesforce (50%):
Data and written content:
· Upload and integrate new and updated contents on Salesforce and thus ensure their coherence and quality;
· Follow the internal guidelines for each kind of data and be particularly vigilant on specific data such as the GPS coordinates;
· Prepare and control all the data for each profile and get it ready for publication;
· Specifically control the data when they are integrated by other stakeholders and make sure it meets the requirements for Homo Faber Guide publication;
· When necessary,ensure the quality of the data liaising with internal (Photo Editor, Editor, Data Quality Coordinator) and external stakeholders (artisans, ateliers or manufacturers);
· If data from the profile is missing, liaise with the artisan or contributor to collect it;
Pictures and banners:
· Strictly follow the picture selection for each profile, upload them following the requirements, the copyrights and the naming policy, integrate the “carrousel” pictures and select the proper “safe area” as well;
· Edit and resize the visual content in order to reach the web criteria and the quality criteria of the Homo Faber Guide;
· Create, edit and schedule the Homo Faber Guide ads banners on desktop and mobile using the CMS;
Homo Faber Guide Objects:
· Once edited by the Editor, manually synchronise the objects for each artisan profile before they are due to be published;
· Integrate the Artisans’ objects text and pictures for new objects and objects changes;
· Actively participate to the weekly meeting dedicated to the objects changes by assisting the team;
Follow-up:
· Anticipate and organize works and content in order to respect the planning of publication;
· On each new live publication, ensure the quality is well reflected online (profiles and pictures);
· Answer to demands and questions of internal and external stakeholders.
· Platform maintenance (15%):
· Test the platform, report precisely any bug or issue, and ensure its proper functioning – in close cooperation with Digital Project Manager and Database Coordinator;
· Do data cleaning on the Salesforce platform;
· Do data enrichment when necessary;
· Homo Faber Guide mail box follow-up (15%):
· Read and answer to the emails received in this box – covering 100% of the emails;
· Gather the proper answers with the team related to the emails demands and respond appropriately;
· Inform the artisans of their publication 10 days prior to publication if editing is complete and follow-up the day of their publication with digital tool kit;
· Image Library Database Management - OCP (20%):
· Rename the photo and video assets files – for upload;
· Upload the photo and video assets on the image library with the appropriate metadata (i.e. captions, criteria, Copyrights and rights) according to the defined classification and processes;
· Ensure the classification meets the need of internal stakeholders (Communication Department and Image and Content Department);
Required Skills:
· Be a qualified media technician (“mediamaticien”) with a CFC.
· One to two year(s) of experience in a digital environment, including database management and image uploading, is expected.
· Familiar withdigital asset management systems and Salesforce.
· Computer proficiency including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, InDesign, Bridge.
· Fluent in English, French and Italian are an asset
· Rigorous, well-organised, precise and detail-oriented.
