Assistant Boutique Manager

Reports to: Senior Manager
Role Overview
Supports the Boutique Manager in the overall management of the boutique, associates, merchandise, and customer service. The Assistant Boutique Manager is a Delvaux Ambassador, assisting in promoting the brand to clients & partners. Contributes to achieving sales objectives, supporting store profitability goals, maintaining high operational and merchandising standards, and assisting in building and developing a highly motivated team.
Responsibilities Brand promotion
Assists in developing the notoriety of the house and building brand awareness in the market - Embodies Delvaux in the city.
Supports the Boutique Manager in building and developing a network of people who have an impact on local, national, and international luxury business to promote customer loyalty, especially with top clients and VIPs.
Actively promotes the culture of the brand internally and externally.
Ensures the store atmosphere upholds brand image under the guidance of the Boutique Manager.
Business development
Contributes to the development of the store business plan, including marketing and promotional strategies, to drive traffic to the store and grow the customer base, with particular emphasis placed on building the local market.
Stays aware of the local market and business environment, including competitors' business activities and luxury goods market trends.
Provides input and recommendations for store renovations/upgrade/expansion etc., to support increased sales and market share.
Sales Management
Supports the Boutique Manager in motivating and coaching sales associates to meet assigned sales & productivity goals.
Demonstrates sales leadership for staff by playing an active role on the selling floor.
Actively participates in managing the clienteling function in the store.
Assists in ensuring that all associates are knowledgeable of all company products, company information, and history. Stays up to date with company news.
Supports in ensuring employees are provided with product knowledge to enhance and ensure cross-selling across categories.
Provides feedback on product assortment, buying trends, and customer requests.
Team Management:
Supports the Boutique Manager in identifying, recruiting, developing, and retaining talent.
Assists in coaching, developing, motivating, and challenging the team on a regular basis by:
Contributing to creating a positive team spirit and animation through participation in regular meetings.
Supports the Boutique Manager in setting individual objectives and monitoring progress. Participates in midterm and yearly formal evaluations as directed.
Assists in the creation of development plans for sales staff.
Assists in supervising store personnel and enforcing company policies, adhering to proper procedure regarding disciplinary action.
Operations:
Ensures effective utilization of the POS system and its inventory management functions.
Assists in preparing daily, weekly, monthly qualitative and quantitative business reports as required by the Boutique Manager.
Supports the Boutique Manager in determining staffing needs and creating staff schedules to ensure appropriate store coverage and match to traffic.
Completes all assigned store administration in an accurate and timely fashion.
Contributes to the store's profitability by managing controllable expenses and supporting sales plan achievement.
Ensures compliance with all internal control procedures; maintains inventory accuracy.
Maintains the highest standard of housekeeping and organization both on and off the sales floor.
Performs other projects, as assigned by the Boutique Manager.
Customer Service
Ensures the highest level of customer service every day and supports the greater selling ceremony.
Supports sales associates with After Sales Service issues, i.e., returns, defective merchandise, repairs.
Store Visuals:
Maintains visual merchandising standards and store condition as set forth by the corporate visual department.
Assists in working with local freelancers to achieve goals of proper window installation and displays.
Qualifications
Minimum 5-7 years of successful previous experience in a supervisory or lead sales role within the luxury field, with some managerial exposure.
Demonstrates leadership potential and experience in guiding or mentoring team members, dedicated to supporting and developing the team.
Operationally strong, able to execute strategies and contribute to operational plans.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
Commercially Minded with a strong understanding of the Luxury Market with a background in Client Development and recruitment support.
