Job Description

Financial Control is one of 5 teams that makes up the Finance department.  Financial Control has to ensure there are adequate controls and checks in place so that all transactions are recorded, payments are made accurately, and the company complies with accounting standards and tax regulations.  Financial Control is very diverse, covering a range of tasks from processing supplier invoices to ensuring the business has access to funds to support our customers taking out car finance.  The Financial Control Intern assists the wider team of 15 people in these tasks.

What you will do: 

·  Assist the Omega Cash Clearing team in matching bank receipts to Omega & Credit Reseau (management system) flows
·  Confirm customer refunds can be paid
·  Post month end journals
·  Perform monthly/quarterly FLOC (First Level of Control) checks
·  Work with the Purchasing Manager and Financial Controller with onboarding new suppliers and checking existing suppliers.  This is part of the TIMS (Third Party Integrity Management System) checks
·  Reconcile the Battery, Building Lease and VAT Balance Sheet Accounts each month

·  Knowledge of Microsoft standard software, especially Excel and Teams
·  Curiosity
·  Willingness to question why we do what we do
·  Ability to work as part of a team
·  Prepared to work hard and focus on the work in the day
·  Excited to learn how to use SAP, Autorek and other software packages
