Production Operator (Temporary, initially for 12 months subject to meeting performance, attendance and conduct standards. There is the potential for this to be extended dependent upon business needs)

Shift Pattern: Pirelli Carlisle operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Shifts are 40 hours per week including weekends and nights. Maximum 12 hours per day
Pirelli Tyres Ltd is seeking Production Operators to work at its site at CARLISLE. Our ideal candidate will be able to work in a physically demanding production environment, be familiar with processes attached to the adherence of Safety and Quality standards and have a can-do and enthusiastic attitude to work.
Main duties include:
· Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure the process is in keeping with Company standards
· Adhering to all Safe Work Practices (SWPs) and keeping abreast of changes to ensure full compliance with HSE requirements
· Operate equipment as directed, working at a pace required of the equipment e.g. Cycle times and Percentage Output
· Ensuring all quality standards are maintained and recorded.
· Carry out housekeeping duties in line with 5S standards.
· Flexibility within the department to carry out any duties that may be required whilst on shift
Essential
· Good basic education – GCSE equivalent
· Responsible for the safety of themselves and others.
· Experience of working to a high standard of quality.
· Stay focused and maintain high output continually through the shift.
· Be able to work autonomously and complete work with minimum supervision.
· Be able and prepared to work on all tasks within the department. This includes using lifting equipment, being on your feet for up to 12 hours and being physically able to bend, twist and pull, together with accepting the work can sometimes be dirty and the work environment hot.
· Have good interpersonal skills, be a team player, with a flexible proactive approach.
· Be willing to embrace change.
· Be proactive and work on own initiative.
· Undertake any and all, training and development identified in order to fulfil the requirements of the role and operational needs.
Desirable
· Experience of working in a physically demanding production environment
· FLT experience
· Working Shift Patterns, including week ends and nights
