Main Activities:
The intern will join Pirelli product premium team, focused on product development and application in the Premium segment. In a dynamic and challenging environment, the resource will support her/his tutor in the following activities:

 

• Product development
- Comprehensive understanding of individual components & materials within the tyre construction, the cause and effect of each on handling, indoor integrity or other performance aspects.
- Support in defining moulds profiles & tooling requirements.
- Support in developing tyre specifications and follow through with local factory development teams for the manufacture of prototypes.
- Support in creating virtual specification, for modeling and feasibility study (simulation)
- Interpretation of test results, ability to summarize synthetically and formulate an action plan.
- Understanding of procedures, technical documentation and legal certification required for correct industrialization procedure of tyres.
- Support and participate in benchmarking and analysis of competitors products and highlight interesting or innovative aspects of geometry/materials etc.
- Product application
- Team working within R&D, Quality, Logistics, OE to ensure correct and precise circulation of project information.
- If necessary support in organizing outdoor test sessions to follow and understand the interaction between vehicle and tyres under various conditions (handling, comfort, NVH).
- Project management & reporting skills.

 
Requirements:
Good English
Excellent skills in MS Office, CAD software
Good skills in Matlab

A 12 month placement is available within the Property Department working within a small but disciplined and professional team.

 

Main duties include:

 

· 
Production, maintenance and updating of survey drawings for the site, general sections, general arrangement drawings and details

· 
Assist with the running of the Pirelli Burton factory site’s routine and reactive property maintenance and repair programme and service contracts

· 
Assist in investigating, diagnosing and specifying building work, producing designs and budget costings

· 
Managing small projects from inception to completion

· 
Support with the identification, assessment, allocation and appointment of suitable contractors, management and supervision of on-site works and undertaking audits upon completion

· 
Liaising with other departments to ensure information is updated on drawings when required

· 
Taking responsibility for a work based project

As we consider the placement student to be an integral part of the team we require the following:

 

· 
Good keyboard skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

· 
Working knowledge of AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT (preferably version 2012)

· 
Knowledge of building construction and surveying to assist with the production of drawings, specifications and tender documents

· 
Good organisational skills and ability to work on your own initiative, in an often changing environment.

· 
Flexibility and to be target orientated

· 
Health and Safety, asbestos and CDM awareness would be an advantage along with a willingness to undertake a formal training programme

· 
Ability to undertake accurate measured surveys of land and buildings, and then transferring details to AutoCad.
