Job description

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, co-operative and adaptable individual to join Pirelli Motorsport based in Didcot, Oxfordshire. The position requires the successful candidate to work within the warehouse to gain a full understanding of how the company works and how the role integrates with other departments. The role also requires extensive travel, nationally and internationally, taking in most weekends for a significant part of the year.

Main Duties:

·  To provide a first class, professional, tyre fitting service, in respect of all Pirelli Motorsport requirements
·  To be aware of stock levels and the maintenance of stock levels to fulfil the required need
·  To assist in the loading/unloading of tyres
·  To assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the warehouse and race event environments
·  To be accutely aware of the need for accuracy in a fast paced environment
·  To understand how the Company and in particular Motorsport, operates
·  To understand how the role of Tyre Fitter integrates with other motorsport roles e.g. Engineers, Logistics etc.and to operate at all times in a fully co-operative and cohesive manner
·  To work as an effective team member in relation to the tyre fitting team and as required with other Pirelli motorsport teams
·  To take initiative and solve problems through regular liaison and discussion with line managers
·  To understand the impact and implications of a drop in standards and a failure to work as a team member
·  To identify and undertake training and development activities as required to enable you to fulfil the role, keep your knowledge and skills up to date and to fulfil your own potential
·  To assist in the guidance, development and integration of new employees, Apprentices, Work placement students etc. in respect of the Tyre Fitter/Warehouse Operator role
·  To be an excellent ambassadour for Pirelli both at home and abroad, at all times, in respect of behaviour, language, dress and overall corporacy
·  To understand the motorsport environment and political arena, including the need for tact and diplomacy when required

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

·  Effective communication e.g. face to face, email, telephone etc. across various levels of the business
·  Resilience to be able to work in a busy, fast paced and highly pressurised environment
·  Accuracy and attention to detail
·  Ability to work to and consistently achieve tight deadlines
·  Flexibility to remain at work, as required, until ‘the job is done’
·  A lifestyle conducive to extensive, frequent, regular, national and  international travel, taking in most weekends for a significant part of the year
·  A level of fitness appropriate to the physical demands of the job – manual handling, standing/walking most of the day, jet lag
·  Ability to travel freely, with no passport restrictions, to worldwide locations (n.b.visa requirements are organised by the Company)

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

·  Previous tyre fitting experience but ‘on the job’ training will be provided
·  Previous experience and understanding of the Motorsport Sector
·  Basic understanding of electrical connections (e.g.plugs and sockets)
