About the role

Ensure smooth functioning of laboratory meeting set standards of quality, environment & safety and desired regulatory needs. Meet customer expectations in terms of quantity, timelines, project updates and other productivity parameters.

Job Responsibilities

Skilled in performing air-sensitive reactions using Schlenk/Glovebox techniques.Plan literature analysis, design route of synthesis for assigned organic compounds and synthesize the products in desired quantities (mg-gm and Kg scale). Execute experiments in laboratory as per synthetic procedures, record observations, isolate and purify material to the desired quality level and characterize using modern spectroscopic methods and capture the scientific data in appropriate report format/ELN/report. Develop solutions to the problems and troubleshoot synthetic and purification challenges using modern tools. Transfer the developed process/technology to scaleup/production team. Work with scaleup/production team to ensure successful completion of new processes and provide training/expertise as needed. Monitor & communicate project progress, adhering to timelines. Plan SAP related activities, BOM, KRM ordering, NPDI, material confirmation and returns. Complete assigned projects with agreed timelines, quality, quantity, and cost. Maintain laboratory equipment, workplace and stocks supplies, verifies inventories and orders fresh stocks as required. Demonstrate and maintain good communication (oral and written) with the stakeholders. Manage and maintain interdepartmental coordination, attend assigned learning and skill enrichment programs, plan and demonstrate process improvement ideas (yield, quality and safety) and sustainability. Prepare quotes/cost estimation for the assigned customer requests. Attending interdepartmental meetings/TCs.Liaise with business and customers (internal/external) to maintain strong project/product pipeline to fulfil/meet assigned revenue targets for the business. Additional responsibility as and when allotted by the management and business head.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

·  PhD in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Organometallics, or related field with 2-3 years of postdoc experience
·  MSc in Chemistry with 8-10 years of industrial experience in organometallics/organic chemistry

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Extensive knowledge in modern synthetic organic chemistry.
·  Knowledgeable with modern chemistry methodology, with a strong focus on organic chemistry, API synthesis, and new reaction exploration
·  Strong experience in Schlenk-line, glove box and air sensitive chemistry technique.
·  Experience in modern analytical and material purification methods, such as NMR, GC, HPLC, auto-column chromatography, etc.
·  Excellent written and presentation skills.
·  Industrial experience would be a plus
·  Chemical manufacturing/process development experience would be desirable
·  Experience with design of experiment methodology preferred
·  Understanding of statistical process control
·  Any experience with large scale reactions would be a plus
