Your Role:
In Semiconductor Materials Engineering team, you will primarily belong to Process Safety group (EL-IOE-S) and will support the Standards & Interfacing team (EL-IOE-ES).
50% of total working hours will be allocated to Process Safety and the rest half of time will be assigned to Standards and Interfacing. You will be in full time Process Safety member after the mission in Standards and Interfacing is completed. As a Process Safety team, you will be responsible for executing the Process Safety programs and providing necessary technical services for large CAPEX projects mainly in Asia.
· The position will be in charge of implementing Pre-DHR (Pre-Design Hazard Review), Operability Review, DHR (Design Hazard Review), DVR (Design Verification Review), PSSR (Pre Startup Safety Review), and QRA (Quantitative Risk Analysis) in accordance with local regulations, international codes and/or Merck EH&S and Engineering standards. You will also support document management and administration works for the team.
· For the Standards & Interfacing supports, you will be responsible for implementing the best-known methods into new EMD Electronics standards.
· The responsibilities will include providing and updating global systems and standardized procedures (SOP) especially for Process Safety related engineering standards and design documents.
· Drive consistency in our processes, carry out lessons learned and share best process safety practices.
· Design trainings for project members. The individual will be working as part of a global engineering team with global activities.
· The position may require some travel domestically and internationally.
· The preferred location for this role is at Baegot, Korea.
Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications:
· Over 5+ years process safety / process engineering experience in Electronics specialties gases / industrial gases / petrochemical / chemical industry or related industries.
· Several years of experience in process safety required.
· Experience in companies with excellent process safety and/or process engineering function is desirable.
· Familiar with engineering documents (ex, P&IDs) and international code/standard such as API, IEC and NFPA etc.
· Experience working in a matrix environment connecting with remote team members, project managers, and customers
Preferred Qualifications:
· Capable of leading / performing Hazard reviews, Qualitative risk analysis, Quantitative risk analysis, Mechanical integrity consulting, Safety integrated system analysis, Critical safety circuit define, Management of change, Process safety management, Pre-Startup Safety Review, etc.
· Process engineering background in electronic specialty gases/ thin film/ delivery system and service (DS&S) / chemical plants desirable.
· Demonstrated ability to provide process safety related technical standards. (ex, process safety management program, area classification, vent location, safety distance, Oxygen safety, etcs.)
· Solid understanding of Electronic Quality Systems (Change Control, Documentation Management) includes writing and routing the Change Request in the Document Management System.
· Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and the ability to interact effectively with people in all areas of the company including project management, plant operations, quality, purchasing, and product management
· Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to adjust to changing priorities
· Good communication, teaching and coaching skills required.
· Good command on local languages required. Good command on written and speaking English skills required.
