Your Role:

Intermolecular is the partner for developing materials and process solutions for some of the most exciting aspects of semiconductor innovation. Our work is enabled by our unique toolset that allows us to screen materials and process combinations quickly, efficiently and with high confidence. The current toolsets are deposition tools (ALD, PVD), metrology tools (physical and electrical characterization) and wet processing tools (wet etch cleans). These toolsets are used in San Jose as well in EMD Electronics’ application labs around the world.

 

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer who will be a key member of an Engineering group. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

 

·  Following established engineering procedures and specifications to create and modify mechanical drawings using 2D and 3D CAD drafting applications, primarily Solid-works and Draft sight.
·  Select and define materials and tolerancing to meet specification, improve manufacturability, and / or reduce cost.
·  Work from redlined drawings or verbal instructions.
·  Generate ECO’s and BOM’s.
·  Perform evaluation and (re-)design of new or existing designs for performance, manufacturability, serviceability
·  Generate all required layout, drawings, and documents associated with the design
·  Develop and implement test plans to ensure design intent is properly realized
·  Solve equipment performance issues using best-in-class problem-solving methods
·  Plan project requirements and specifications; prepare and present project status reports

 

Minimum Qualifications:

·  Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience OR
·  Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 1+ years of experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Equipment experience in a semiconductor environment
·  Experience on tool monitoring and interdiction software, and equipment maintenance and documentation
·  Working knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, and SPC techniques. Experienced with semiconductor cleanroom protocol and behaviors.
·  Strong verbal and written communication skills
·  Demonstrated strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
·  Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
·  Ability to take the initiative and strive for results
·  Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
·  Ability to work effectively in an interrupt-driven, fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
·  Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships
