Your Role:

At MilliporeSigma, the Histology Lab Manufacturing Technician is responsible for performing Histology related functions. This includes microtomy, staining of tissue by immunohistochemistry (IHC), tissue processing and embedding. The ideal candidate has experience using a microtome and is eager to work as a team to meet departmental goals and deadlines. This position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor as part of the Operations team located at the Rocklin Site, where we manufacture products for use in in vitro diagnostic (IVD) IHC.  In addition, this individual’s daily tasks may include:

·  Packaging and labeling product
·  Ordering laboratory reagents
·  Maintaining a clean lab environment
·  Work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or hazardous chemicals

 

Physical Attributes:

·  The ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds unassisted
·  The ability to frequently sit, stand; walk; use hands, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
·  The employee may be required to wear an air helmet, mask, safety shoes, apron rubber and Tyvek suits, protective gloves, safety glasses, and/or goggles while performing in this position

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

·  Associate Degree in a Biology, Biochemistry, or other Biological Science discipline OR 2+years of Histology lab experience
·  1+yrs experience with general laboratory equipment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Bachelors’ Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or other Biological Science discipline
·  Experience using a microtome
·  Experience performing IHC methods
·  1+ years’ experience in FDA regulated biotechnology, or pharmaceutical environment
·  Knowledge of ISO 13485 or other industry standards
·  Experience with SAP, SAP NEXT, or other ERP system
