Job Description:

IBM Watson Health is ushering in the next era of health care by using Cognitive Computing to tackle some of the industry's most challenging problems - like revolutionizing how to change patient and provider behavior via robust discovery and engagement experiences. We have an exciting opportunity for a UX Designer (Lead) on our Payer/Provider Market Segment to lead engagement and behavior change design efforts. Our environment is ever changing and requires a hands-on Design candidate who is flexible, thrives in ambiguity and can effectively collaborate across cross-functional groups and locations.

Although UX Design will be your primary role, we're looking for candidates with secondary skill in Data Visualization or Visual Design.

Responsibilities Include:
Leading the Design Strategy
·  With a team of designers, deliver innovative, delightful user experiences that leapfrog the competition and meet stakeholder, user and project management expectations
·  Communicate design strategy with product managers, developers, project managers and up line management
·  Ensure your team is following IBM Design Thinking best practices, applying a variety of design methods
·  Develop relationships with clients and stakeholders
·  Collaborate across functional groups and across design teams early and often
·  Promote team success stories throughout organization
·  Remain current on technology advancements and integrate them into the design direction Engaging with the Industry
·  Seek out collaboration opportunities with clients while managing expectations and involvement
·  Leverage user research to influence product strategy
·  Ensure all design team members are participating in user research Managing a High-Performance Team
·  Create an environment that values professional growth, rewards results, and inspires creativity and elegant problem solving
·  Work with other Design Leads to prioritize design projects in alignment with Watson's business goals
·  Manage multiple projects simultaneously and allocate resources as required
·  Utilize Lean and Agile practices to move swiftly and efficiently
·  Coach and mentor design team members to help them remove roadblocks
·  Provide feedback on designer performance, including reviewing their work to ensure top quality
·  Identify opportunities for team members to sharpen and expand their skills
Although Design Team Lead will be your primary role, we're looking for candidates with skills across Design Research, User Experience Design, Visual Design, and Design Development.

Key Skills:
·  Demonstrated use of user interface design principles and the user-centered design process, including user research techniques, both in creating designs and explaining/defending designs to the product team
·  Demonstrated ability to produce quick, low-fidelity sketches on tight schedules that utilize design heuristics and usability standards
·  Demonstrated ability to synthesize real user feedback into designs
·  Demonstrated experience managing design deliverables with Agile project management techniques
·  Demonstrated experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Omnigraffle, Balsamiq and/or other design tools
·  Working knowledge of how compositions translate to HTML, JavaScript and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) used to deliver feasible designs
·  Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, including techniques to persuade and negotiate and the ability to articulate alternative approaches
·  Demonstrated storytelling and presentation skills
·  Creative, outside-the-box thinking; quality is a must!
