In Watson Health Imaging, we want to help doctors even further by designing and building a next generation image-guided cognitive advisor with advanced multimodal analytics, clinical knowledge and reasoning capabilities that is qualified to assist in clinical decision making in radiology, cardiology, ophthalmology, and other areas. Our solutions are to provide a delightful experience that exhibit a deep understanding of diseases and their interpretation in multiple modalities (X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, PET, Clinical text) covering various radiology and cardiology specialties.

We have an exciting opportunity for a UX Designer on our Watson Health - Imaging design team responsible for defining the user experience of a large and complex product user experience. Watson Health Imaging (WHI) addresses all aspects of the healthcare enterprise that creates and uses images to save and improve lives while reducing the cost of healthcare. Our environment is ever changing and requires candidates who are flexible, thrive in ambiguity and can effectively collaborate across cross-functional groups and locations.

Although UX Design will be the primary role, we're looking for candidates with secondary skills in User Research also.

Responsibilities include:
·  Creating the assets necessary to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas to the larger team (wireframes, mockups, clickable prototypes, detailed annotations, etc.)
·  Delivering, reviewing and critiquing the designs of a multi-skilled design team to ensure effective and rich designs (great interaction, supreme visual styling, consistent and appropriate use of voice and tone, etc.)
·  Working with designers, researchers, offering managers, and developers to understand and communicate users' needs and behaviors to inform and shape product strategy/roadmap and create design deliverables for each release/phase/iteration.
·  Building a cross-functional team culture of transparent collaboration that results in clearly and quickly deliver ideas for feedback and iteration.
·  Creating clean and approachable data visualizations to illustrate complex analytics, trends, and data relationships.
·  Participating in lean UX activities (in person and remote) in an Agile environment such as user/design research, interviews and design thinking workshops.
·  Participating in user research activities such as usability testing and design validation; and synthesizing real user feedback back into your designs. Skills:
·  Able to focus on design detail and ascertain user value and impact as part of their software experience.
·  Creative, curious, questioning, open to take and provide critique and have a ton of initiative
·  Experience solving complex design problems for Web interactions or software solutions
·  Demonstrated ability to translate research findings into complex interaction designs that provide usable, effective and efficient experiences to users
·  Demonstrated ability to produce and enhance low-fidelity sketches and medium fidelity wireframes to facilitate communication of recommended solutions

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Bachelor's Degree in User Experience Design, Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
·  3 or more years of experience in solving complex user problems and user interface design.
·  Portfolio and work samples including user-centered design skills including visualizations of complex experiences such as stories, flows, scenarios, personas, etc. (any fidelity), sketches to mid-fidelity interactions (show your process) and clickable prototypes (any fidelity).
·  Understanding of Design principles and their application.
·  Experience designing for accessibility.
·  Examples of beginning and ending interactions (micro interactions) and/or mobile/responsive design considerations.
·  Understand limitations of web technologies including: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, etc.
·  Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, Bohemian Sketch, and prototyping tools, such as InVision and/or Axure
