Purpose & Summary:
Investigate quality measure validity and feasibility on the IBM Explorys healthcare data platform. Work on new projects alongside other members of Innovations, which is a cross-functional, highly collaborative team that works closely with client services, account management, software development, and product management.
Essential Functions:
· Evaluate quality measures from organizations like the National Quality Forum (NQF), Inpatient Quality Initiative (IQI), and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
· Author quality measures using the Explorys Measure Definition Language (MDL), an XML programming language
· Validate measure results when applied to real-world healthcare data at scale Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Proficient in SQL
· Programming experience in at least one development language (Python, Java, Ruby, etc.)
· Communications Skills – Effective at working independently and in collaboration with other staff members
· Capable of clearly presenting findings orally and in writing
· Analytical Skills – Able to compare, contrast, and validate work with keen attention to detail
· Skilled in working with “real world” data including scrubbing, transformation, and imputation
· Problem Solving Skills – Able to plan work, set clear direction, and coordinate own tasks in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment.
· Expert at triaging issues, identifying data anomalies, and debugging software
· Available to be in Cleveland, Ohio area June through August 2017
