  • Cambridge (Middlesex County)

Job description

Preferred location Cambridge, MA or Raleigh/Durham, NC

Ready to change the way the world works? IBM Watson uses Cognitive Computing to tackle some of humanity's most challenging problems - like revolutionizing how doctors research cancer or transforming how businesses engage with their customers. Watson Health, established in April 2015, is the newest division of IBM Watson. The vision for Watson Health is to serve as a catalyst to save and improve lives around the world and lower costs through cognitive computing.

Watson for Genomics provides evidence-based clinical interpretation service of molecular testing in oncology at scale. It is launched with Quest Diagnostic in October 2016, then early this year with Illumina, and Baheal, providing up-to-date clinical interpretation in personalized medicine. All the analysis is done automatically on the cloud and all the information is backed up by evidence from the literature.

Now, we have an exciting opportunity for a Data Analytics Specialist to join our Watson for Genomics team. Interested candidates should have a proven track record of designing, deploying and supporting data analytics infrastructures.

Candidate must have demonstrated capacity to adapt to demanding and high-pressure projects and adaptability to client's needs. This role combines demonstrated industry experience as well as the ability to apply advanced analytics and natural language processing concepts to address and solution complex challenges facing senior executives in the healthcare industry today.

The Data Analytics Full Stack Specialist will design and support reports and dashboards for a number of requirements from Genomic Analysts, Business Analysts and Market Managers. Genomic Analysts use the functionality to assess the overall accuracy performance of the system while processing patient cases, whereas Business Analysts and Market Managers rely on the system to assess usage trends from existing customers as well as exploring new use cases and markets for the system.

The position also requires the ability to troubleshoot and address issues with the reporting and dashboarding infrastructure, as well as the automation of deployment activities for enhancements to the reports and dashboards.

Interested in being a part of the new era of cognitive computing? IBM Watson Health is now a full-service IBM business unit with software, systems, research, and industry experts all working together to bring cognitive computing to the market. Watson technology aims to revolutionize how industries use big data and analytics to engage with their customers, conduct research, make informed decisions, and many other critical business functions. Headquartered in Kendal square, our newest business group is looking to leverage the talents of many professionals just like you.
