IBM Watson uses Cognitive Computing to tackle some of humanity's most challenging problems - like revolutionizing how doctors research cancer or transforming how businesses engage with their customers. We have an exciting intern opportunity for a Bioinformatics to join our highly visible Watson Genomic Analytics team, helping to build genomic solutions using the Watson technology

In this role, you will perform bioinformatics analysis on next-gen sequencing data, evalute accuracy, and perform validation. You
would also have a chance to be involved in cutting-edge projects, improving overall application performance and really make a
change to patient care in the real world.

You will collaborate with researchers, platform architects, cloud-based service developers to build solutions that meet client
requirements. Your work will be driven by real-world data, be influenced by healthcare domain experts, and utilize state of the
art analysis tooling and methods.

Successful candidates will:

Demonstrable knowledge of and experience performing bioinformatics analysis on next generation sequencing data and
have applied this to real-world, large scale data sets.

Have working knowledge of the healthcare industry and experience curating and analyzing healthcare and wellness data

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Bachelors Degree

At least 1 years experience in large data set curation and analysis from real-world sources
At least 2 years experience in Statistical analysis packages (e.g. SPSS, SAS, R, Python)
At least 2 years experience in Software Development, preferably Java and relational database
English Fluent
