Unit Process Development Operations Engineer

IBM is currently looking for a Unit Process Development Operations Engineer for their Albany, NY office.

This position is a unit process development operations engineering role in the 300mm wafer R&D microchip fabricator. In this role, the expectation is for the engineer to serve as tool and process owner for unit processes primarily in reactive ion etch (RIE). The primary responsibilities involve managing specifications, work-in-progress, driving statistical process controls, driving continuous improvement activities, coordinating new tool installation and upgrades, managing/ developing processes, developing documentation and procedures for the operation of process equipment, and driving efforts to troubleshoot equipment and processes that are failing specifications, etc. It also involves developing and maintaining close engagement w/ other stockholders in the organization/ecosystem, especially the fab operations teams, unit process development, integration, equipment engineering, industrial engineering, etc. , and also w/ the tool suppliers and the field service engineer and applications support teams from the suppliers. Overall, in this role the engineer will be playing a central role in managing and coordinating various teams and activities that are focused on ensuring that unit processes and equipment needed to support our unique R&D activities are available and at the expected quality levels.

Qualified applicants will be proficient in technical writing and have a good understanding of basic science, engineering, and statistics principles. Software/Apps Development and Data Mining experience is preferred.
