The following student position is a part of IBM Canada's EPIC (Employment Pathways to Interns & Co-ops) Student Program. This position is only open to students registered in a Canadian University or College program, who have completed a minimum of 2 years of their degree or diploma program, and who must be returning to full-time study upon the completion of the temporary IBM work term.
*This Student Position resides in Ottawa, Ontario and is a 4-month work term commencing May 2017 .

The following job responsibilities for a co-op student technical writer include:
· Update documentation source in accordance with the requirements of the project.
· Work with cutting edge documentation tools and processes, including interactive multimedia software, in a single-sourced writing environment.
· Apply user experience principles to content design and authoring.
· Work closely with other experienced writers as part of a global team.
· Work in a fast-paced and changing environment that deals with multiple software products.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
The ideal candidate must have
· Experience with writing different types of technical and business documentation, such as online help systems, and user or administration manuals.
· Experience with Windows operating systems.
· Proven communication, time management, and organizational skills.
· Co-op or internship program enrollment is mandatory
