The MSC NA Design Team Lead supervises a large team of employees and contractors who are working with internal IBM clients. Demonstrated success and knowledge of the discipline being managed is important, and the ability to coach, motivate and inspire individuals is critical. The Team Lead will work with the Center Manager to facilitate the enablement, engagement, and development of skills on the team with the end goal being better business results.
Responsibilities:
· Conduct regular one-on-one and group meetings with site team to identify opportunities and resolve issues
· Coach and mentor teammates
· Build a collaborative team and extend the network of the team into the broader MSC to identify opportunities for skill growth, scale and efficiency
· Create opportunities for team collaboration, learning and camaraderie
· Ensure all designers are engaged to their capacity and potential; no-one is left behind, everyone is developing and growing professionally, and acknowledged as a valuable contributor.
· Act as a Design subject matter expert, providing best practice guidance to resources across MSC centers
· Assist in the evaluation, recruitment and on-boarding of new team members
· Work with the Center Manager to drive high quality output
· Provide clear, open communication: help set expectations, priorities and requirements with the team members, Center Manager and MSC sponsors
· Initial point of contact for stakeholder questions
· Maintain sponsor relationships to ensure team members have the right skills and expertise to meet business goals
· Liaise with Client Partners and Business Leads to balance workload across the team, alleviate personnel concerns and staffing questions; track outcomes This position will be located in IBM offices in Raleigh, North Carolina.
