Your Role and Responsibilities
The Technology Lifecycle Services (TLS) Team is expanding its footprint in Switzerland and looking for an experienced Systems Availability Manager (SAM) for z-Systems Hardware. As Systems Availability Manager you will act as contact person and subject matter expert for one or more products and/or technologies. Your activities aim to consult your assigned clients on improving their system availability and transition the operation from reactive break&fix to proactive, incident-avoiding approach. As part of your role you will
· Provide services with a prime focus on system stability and high availability and with a secondary focus on architecture and campus design.
· Visit your assigned clients on site regularly to perform relevant pre-agreed tasks, and update and maintain their understanding and knowledge of the client-specific requirements and environment.
· Assist your clients during critical processing phases such as migrations, deployments, reorganisations.
· Support your clients in performing analysis, health checks, and other aspects of their main operating tasks.
· Provide technical consultancy support to large client projects.
· Enable communication to IBM Mainframe Software teams and IBM Labs.
· Advise clients on potential continual service improvement actions.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
· Expert knowledge of IBM Mainframe and z/OS.
· Knowledge in at least two of the following technologies: DB2, CICS, Websphere, GDPS, performance tuning and hardware configuration management.
· High level of service orientation and consultancy mindset; the role requires building a strong network with your client on technical expert and management level.
· Fluent German and / or English language skills.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
· Working experience in a Mainframe technical expert or consultancy role.
· Experience to work in a global virtual team.
· ITIL foundation certification.
