One of the IBM pillars for successful business is to be informed in advance for possible problems on the customer systems. Netcool helps company identify where they have problem on their infrastructure. That's why the Netcool is used and this allows us to receive the information (alerts) before the customer recognize that the problem occurs. Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus is a service level management (SLM) system that delivers real-time, centralized monitoring of complex networks and IT domains. Netcool and it is very powerful. As is one of the key Hybrid Service Technology (HST) tool giving us great opportunity to setup up and configure the monitoring parameters and thresholds.

On the other hand this is not only one area where the Netcool team is playing key role. We have very wide portfolio of products in our scope. Any technically oriented candidate should be able to find appropriate technical area for her/his personal interest and grow in it inside the IBM team.

Responsibilities

As a member of our team you will be managing, maintaining and updating the Netcool infrastructure. You will work on the automation projects, monitoring improvements, documentation, standardization of the whole technical solution and on troubleshooting technical environment. Another core of your work will be educating involved teams, doing the systems management and communication to IBM'ers and customers as well. Moreover, as expert you will be able to work on the new projects, design and size the new solution and eventually you will perform installation and architecture decision steps of the new infrastructure or cooperate with project management on successful implementation.

Requirements

·  At least 2-3 years of experiences in IT technology on technical role
·  UNIX/Linux/Windows systems on the basic level
·  Network technology on basic level
·  Independent and active approach, ability to work under pressure, good communication

Preferred skills

·  Netcool - intermediate
·  Shell scripting or perl scripting or java scripting is advantage
·  Basic knowledge of SQL standards, working with databases (preferably DB2)
·  Any knowledge of the Tivoli product (ITM6, TMF, TEC, ITCAM, TADDM, SRM, ... )
·  Tivoli monitoring approach concept will be highly appreciated
