Job description
The Weather Company, an IBM Business is seeking a communications expert to lead the planning, coordination and execution of communication strategies to keep The Weather Company team and greater IBM business informed of company news, product launches, events, successes, employee-related information and other communications as needed.
This individual will plan, manage and execute internal communications tactics as part of the overall strategic communications plans, including content creation and distribution. They will also spearhead internal corporate events as needed.
Strategic Communications:
• Provide counsel and help execute effective internal communications strategies and tactics for cross-IBM audiences to significantly increase The Weather Company brand awareness within broader IBM Business, and develop Weather executive thought leadership within the company.
• Develop and create communication plans that help educate and inform Weather employees on company initiatives, and help create greater employee engagement and build/strengthen culture within the company.
• Work with comms team and other stakeholders to understand upcoming projects, launches, news and events that require internal communications support
• Participate in development of innovative content and messaging to help articulate the strategy/direction for The Weather Company storyline within the broader IBM transformation.
• Partner with marketing, media and analyst relations teams to advance thought leadership platform for internal and external audiences.
· Develop content highlighting company news and events; including blog posts; scripts/talking points for executive videos; images, video and other assets to support the story; producing executive video interviews or other video content as necessary.
• Proactively seek opportunities to collaborate with other IBM business units on company news and communications.
• Write and submit The Weather Company campaigns, products, executives, etc. for relevant internal awards and recognition.
• Manage relationships/outreach with various internal and external influencers
IBMer Engagement:
• Increase The Weather Company brand awareness among IBMers.
• Translate key business/technical strategies for targeted employee audiences.
• Maintain a drumbeat of internal communications on The Weather Company launches and news, in coordination with the larger IBM Analytics Comms team.
· Coordinate with internal stakeholders for key event planning, including town halls and relevant conferences.
Digital/Social Communications:
· The candidate will support digital content creation for The Weather Company Connections community and help plan effective social tactics for key events, working with the larger Analytics Comms team.
· The candidate should have a proven track record in executing highly effective digital content, communications strategies and social media tactics. The candidate must be able to collaborate effectively with global teams across various functions and geographies. TWC

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Bachelor's Degree in corporate communications, public relations, journalism or related field preferred
• 3-5 years PR experience, preferably in a corporate or PR agency setting
• At least 3 years experience in managing relationships with influence
• Experience in internal communications
· Experience in digital content creation

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
