The Weather Company, an IBM Business is seeking a Software Engineer with a weather background to join the team. The position calls for the ability to be handle technical development tasks and apply meteorological knowledge to those tasks. The Software Engineer should be passionate about weather and technology and be looking to grow their abilities in both areas.

Maintain and support a suite of weather related software products

Use both technical and meteorological skills to create new software products

Work with engineering and product team in testing new products

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science

Experience manipulating large sets of common meteorological formats (grib, netcdf, etc..)

Experience developing software on Linux

Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python / Perl

Experience with relational databases, SQL
