Your Role and Responsibilities
Software Engineering and Product development is critical to the success of IBM and our clients worldwide. You will collaborate with top industry thinkers at IBM and utilise the newest software development tools, methodologies, and techniques to create solutions you can be proud of.
We are seeking seasoned people with a strong interest in data and AI to join our watsonx.data engineering team.
We are seeking professionals who are knowledgeable about the latest offerings in data warehouse, data lake, and data lakehouse technologies.
Professionals who are already involved in these products' open-source communities or who actively monitor them will have an edge during the hiring process.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Overall 3+ years of IT Industry experience
·  Experience working with Linux or Unix based OS
·  Strong development experience in Java and object-oriented programming
·  Strong development experience with REST API development
·  Working knowledge in Container technologies: Kubernetes, Docker
·  Working knowledge on OpenShift
·  Experience working with Automation and Integration processes and tools like Jenkins.
·  Experienced with tools such as GitHub
·  Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM-based environment
·  Excellent communication skills (verbal and writing)
·  Excellent communicator
·  Troubleshoot and solve customer issues on production deployments

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Experience with Data Engineering, Data Governance, Data Management
·  AWS or IBM Cloud expertise
·  Awareness or past experience in Big Data technologies, Spark, streaming data
·  Track record of open source contributions
·  Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent
