Your Role and Responsibilities

Responsibilities
As a Technical Development Manager on the Watson Orchestrate team, you will be leading and motivating a full-stack team in a fast-paced environment developing the next generation of AI-infused platform features using the latest Saas and microservices architecture. Working in an agile environment, you drive multi-disciplinary squads within the large global development product group. Your work will involve close collaboration with Architects, DevOps Engineers, Designers and Offering Managers across our global organization.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  5+ years of software development leadership experience in software development with distributed systems.
·  2+ years people management experience leading a department of 10 or more developers.
·  2+ years experience working with Kubernetes/OpenStack or related cloud-native technologies
·  Experience working with CI/CD processes, DevOps methodologies and tools such as git, Jenkins, Travis.
·  Excellent people skills, including negotiating, recruiting, motivating, and team building
·  Growth-mindset: Willingness to learn new technologies and processes
·  Highly organized and able to balance multiple priorities
·  Dedication to transparency: ability to report issues and risks and find solutions
·  Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with remote office locations.
·  Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Experience with multiple cloud services, including IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, Google
·  Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
