Job description

High level summary: Ability to create/write architecture verification software for IBM z SystemsJob will entail – Design, Coding, Test and Debug. Working with teams of development & test engineers, programmers and technicians.
System Architecture Kernel (SAK). SAK is comprised of an operating system, and an ever growing suite of architecture verification and stress test programs.SAK has the flexibility to be used to locate and debug hardware and firmware issues on z Systems. SAK provides a robust framework for verification of both the processor and input/output architectures.
It has many years of proven methodology of pseudo-random test approach. The SAK test platform is used to verify machines in pre-silicon processor simulation and in all phases of post-silicon testing, including initial bring-up, regression, manufacturing and field installs.
SAK code is maintained in Git, and new code development platform, Eclipse. New tools and processes are being developed constantly.The Test Automation Environment allows SAK and other tests to be started and monitored un-occupied, and run data automatically analyzed. This environment is evolving and is updated when new tools and machine features are available.
The candidate must possess the ability to quickly understand and utilize multiple programming languages. The ability to read architecture and then turn that into a test program to verify the new function. The SAK team works in a fast paced environment. Typically starting on the new mainframe offering about two years before hardware is available. Starting with simulation and ending with customer delivery, SAK plays a key role in every phase of design, test and delivery. Independent thinking is a must.
