Job description

Will guide multiple agile development work streams in a dynamic and rapidly evolving business area. Responsible for growing the scrum processes and scrum meetings. Works to increase team efficiency, motivation, works for innovative changes. Ensures the DoD (Definition of done) is being followed. Will work with the Program Manager, Product Owner, and others to help deliverer a quality solution quickly.

Essential Responsibilities
·  Understand the work, facilitate team alignment on vision and scope of the work, and use agile principles to deliver the work iteratively and in sync with program goals
·  Leverage technical acumen to help optimize team performance
·  Collaborate with colleagues to create an environment where the team has the context and freedom to make the best decisions to maximize value for our customers
·  Responsible for facilitating sprint planning, daily scrum, sprint demo and retrospective meetings.
·  Track dependencies and risks
·  Guiding the team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to help increase customer satisfaction.
·  Guiding the team on how to get the most of out of self-organization.
·  Helping the team to increase their agility at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team.
·  Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
·  Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
·  Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
·  Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
·  Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
·  Responsible for creating information demonstrating the effectiveness and value being delivered by the team/program.
·  Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
·  Providing support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible and leading by example.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  First level Scrum Master certification (CSM or PSM I) or equivalent experience
·  1+ years of experience in playing the Scrum Master role for application development or networking team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
·  Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
·  Knowledge of various well-documented agile patterns and techniques for addressing anti-patterns
·  Good communication and interpersonal skills
·  Planning experience
·  Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing
·  Experience in coaching individuals on Agile practices
·  Experience using an ALM tool (i.e. Rally, Jira, Jama, VesionOne, …)
