As a Salesforce Lead Developer at Octo, you will be responsible for supporting multiple delivery projects for the Department of Veterans Affairs. The ideal candidate for this position enjoys problem-solving, has come up through the technical ranks, and has worked as a Salesforce platform developer. Responsibilities include solving technical problems on a daily basis while handling escalated requests and mentoring Salesforce declarative and programmatic developers on solving technical issues.

Program Mission...

The Digital Transformation Center (DTC) supports Veterans Affairs (VA) with onboarding and maintaining enterprise SaaS and PaaS solutions used to support the mission of serving our Veterans and their associated stakeholders. We are digitizing information and processes for improved implementation, leveraging modern tools and low code/no code for reusability and faster delivery.

Responsibilities:

·  Providing Salesforce architecture best practice insight for secure application development.
·  Analyzing organizational capabilities in order to suggest process and performance improvement.
·  Supporting & guiding a team of mid-level and senior developers.
·  Support quality assurance testing efforts
·  Analyzing organizational capabilities in order to suggest process and performance improvement.
·  Implementation of enterprise apex patterns frameworks at scale.
·  Troubleshooting of performance issues using tools like debug logs and dev console.
·  Troubleshooting system configuration and data management issues.
·  Partner cross-functionally on platform innovation and DevOps maturity.
·  Apex and/or Jest LWC Unit testing best practice recommendations.
·  Collaborating with internal and client staff in identifying, planning, executing, tracking, and reporting all activities for security and compliance-related activities.
·  Ability to troubleshoot complex data loads (e.g., governor limits, performance, process builders, apex timeouts).

Years of Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience. 5+ years of experience with Salesforce, with a minimum of 3 years of Salesforce development experience. Prior team leadership experience required.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or other technical discipline required.

Location: Remote within the United States.

Clearance: Ability to obtain government clearance

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Prior technical team leadership experience
·  Must have at least 8-10+ years of experience in software development. Prefer at least 5+ years as Salesforce developer (APEX, Visualforce, Aura, LWC) is required.
·  Experience with other Object-Oriented Languages (JAVA, .NET, Ruby, etc.)
·  3+ Years working in an Agile environment.
·  Deep knowledge of invokable method development, custom settings, and custom metadata types.
·  Capable of conducting code reviews and architectural reviews.
·  Experience with Git-based version control.
·  Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on cross-functional teams.
·  Skill in interpersonal and verbal/written communications, presentations, math, analytical and problem-solving skills.

·  Salesforce Platform Developer I
·  Salesforce Platform Developer II
·  Salesforce Certified App Builder
·  other Salesforce certifications (e.g., Architecture Certifications preferred; Cloud Consultant certifications a plus).
·  Experience with Salesforce DX CI/CD toolset, optimization & troubleshooting of relevant processes.
·  Experience with multiple salesforce org environment and troubleshooting.
·  Experience and general understanding of networking technologies, firewalls to troubleshoot networking issues and determine root causes (i.e., Salesforce versus network cause).
·  Must be able to use a computer.
·  Must be able to communicate both verbally and in written form.
·  Must be able to obtain a government security clearance.
·  Must be eligible to work in the United States.
·  Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting.
