Your Role and Responsibilities
Your Role and Responsibilities as Safety & Industrial Hygiene Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in promoting a safe work environment. Your responsibilities include: • Hazard Recognition: Expertly identify and assess potential occupational hazards to ensure employee safety and health. • Safety Control Design: Develop comprehensive controls and risk-management strategies for employee safety, encompassing areas such as mechanical safety, electrical safety, ergonomics, material handling, chemical safety, contractor & construction safety, and fire/life safety. Lead surveys and investigations in complex work environments to address employee safety needs effectively. • Program Development: Evaluate trends in employee safety, both internal and external, and stay informed about regulatory requirements and industry advancements. Create and maintain major programs and processes to support line management in prioritizing employee safety. • Facility Compliance: Ensure facilities adhere to safety practices and standards. Maintain accurate documentation of work results and prepare technical papers for publication when appropriate. • Mentorship: Provide guidance and direction to less experienced personnel, fostering their professional growth. • Collaboration & Accountability: Work closely with colleagues to deliver employee safety services and contribute to the development and implementation of new safety initiatives. Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in safety sciences, or a closely related scientific/engineering technical discipline, or equivalent qualifications. • Proficiency in applying principles within the field of safety and engineering, including specialized training in electrical safety, mechanical safety, auditing, and comprehensive hazard recognition.
