Job description

IBM Research has internship positions available in the Healthcare and Life Sciences Group.

You should have experience and credentials in computational biology, healthcare, or technologies contributing to the Internet-of-Things, and have both research and software engineering skills. Areas of interest include: computational genomics, biomolecular modeling, bionanotechnology, molecular biology, functional genomics and system biology, cancer genomics, drug discovery, nanotechnology, microfluidics, signal processing, computational neuroscience, machine learning, healthcare analytics, real world evidence, translational informatics, health behavior, decision support, natural language processing, electro-chemistry, micro-systems technology, integrated sensors, wireless communications, non-invasive / invasive health monitoring and wearable computing.

The position requires daily interactions with group team members and potentially also with external collaborators, so proven oral and written communication skills are required. Candidates with research experience are preferred.

Candidates pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Computer Science or a related area are preferred. Work locations are Yorktown Heights, NY and Cambridge, MA.
