IBM Center for Blockchain Innovation (ICBI) is a part of IBM Research Center in Singapore. ICBI is a world-class multidisciplinary organization that strives to achieve industry leadership in Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. The center works with government organizations, academia, and other industrial players to foster innovation in the Asia-Pacific region and make Singapore a pioneer in Fintech innovation.
We are now seeking a Research Scientist to advance IBM's Blockchain offerings and lead the development of solutions for challenging problems in distributed ledger technology. The ideal candidate in this role will be a Research Scientist who has a strong track record of research, and preferred research areas in Blockchain, AI, distributed systems, or cryptography. Good communication skills, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and excellent team skills, are also a must.
Responsibilities:
· Advance industry transformations using Blockchain by working actively with IBM's clients and partners across different industries such as Finance, Trade, and Commerce
· Explore how Blockchains can address existing pain-points as well as create new opportunities in the above industries
· Solve complex, multidimensional, real-world problems through novel research ideas
· Work together with engineers to prove out research ideas via the implementation of research prototypes
· Work with a community of researchers worldwide across 13 IBM Research locations
· Enhance IBM Research's impact on academia by publishing in top journals and conferences
Required Technical and Professional Expertise:
· Ph.D Degree in related fields that include Computer Science, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mathematics (fresh graduates and postdocs are welcome to apply)
· Must have demonstrated strength in research, either through a proven publication track record, or by other means
· Practical experience with existing Blockchain platforms such as Hyperledger Fabric, Ethereum, or Quorum would be a plus.
