Position Overview
Reporting to a Human Resources Business Partner, the Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the human resources function for 100+ employees in our Markham location, including, but not limited to: talent acquisition, new hire onboarding, payroll, benefits inquiries and staff departures and off-boarding.
Responsibilities will include:
· Manage the staffing requisition process, including internal and external job postings; execute sourcing strategy for all positions to ensure appropriate applicant quality and quantity.
· Screen resumes for fit, manage the interview process, coordinate and participate in open-house interview days.
· Partner with management on the candidate selection process, salary recommendations and draft and extend offers of employment.
· Facilitate the new hire onboarding process, working with both managers and candidates to ensure timely completion of all process steps.
· Report weekly new hires to internal teams, including IT and Finance, for successful on boarding
· Monitor headcount against open requirements and maintain employee rosters.
· Serve as primary contact for HR-related inquires and problem resolution.
· Coordinate benefits and payroll administration with outsource providers.
· Process payroll and payroll changes.
· Assist in facilitating the performance management process.
· Coordinates all aspects of employee off-boarding activities and paperwork.
· Prepare human resources management reporting and weekly updates. Desired Skills & Experience
· At least five (5) or more years of human resources experience with a focus on staffing and recruitment. Experience with high volume staffing strongly preferred.
· General knowledge/proficiency in benefits, payroll, employee relations, performance management and Canadian employment law.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects effectively.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management.
· Strong customer-focus orientation and follow-up.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
