Your Role and Responsibilities
The Compute Hardware Product Manager works closely with Architecture, Engineering/Development, Marketing, Sales, and Finance teams, to set strategy for, define, design, and directly manage nearly all aspects of end-to-end customer experience and their impact on our business. The Compute Hardware Product Manager will take a lead role in managing the product lifecycle strategies for Compute Hardware products. This will include the management of existing products and services as well as creating new products or services as customer and market needs change. The Compute Hardware Product Manager will have the critical role of leading and driving the product definitions for Bare Metal products and will help shape the product roadmap while driving new features based on this vision.
The Compute Hardware Product Manager will create go-to market plans and manage the development of products with cross-functional teams to meet product schedules and quality goals. Additional duties include managing multiple products, engaging in technical, product development, marketing, and pre/post-sales support activities, and providing the engineering/development team with product requirements.
In this role, the Compute Hardware Product Manager will need to conduct margin analysis, compile market research, and establish product analytics that determine demand, viability, and profitability. The Compute Hardware Product Manager will create formal business cases and product descriptions and work as a facilitator between various internal organizations to ensure product policies and processes are documented and executed accurately.
Responsibilities
· Act as the Subject Matter Expert for the Cloud IaaS Product portfolio.
· Manage the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
· Research market trends for IT infrastructure and develop strategies to ensure Compute Hardware offering meets customer needs as trends evolve.
· Define product requirements and translate into actionable items for the engineering/development teams.
· Work across functional teams to continually improve the customer experience.
· Lead and manage new product launches.
· Identifying and retiring products that have reached end-of-life.
· Communicate across the organization, including to executive teams, on health of products in the IaaS Hardware portfolio.
· Work with the sales organization on strategic customer engagements.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or a related field
· Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) preferred
· 5+ years in a Product Management Role
· 2+ years in Bare Metal industry
· Experience with compute/server hardware, software, and virtualization technologies.
· Experience in Cloud, Hosting, Managed Services, and Data Center markets.
· Demonstrated experience shipping multiple iterations of commercially successful products with hardware, software, and service dependencies.
· Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver products and projects on tight deadlines.
· Experience simultaneously coordinating multiple complex product development cycles and software development schedules.
· Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
· Proven problem-solving skills, project management skills, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills.
· Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast-paced environment.
