Job description

As a Tactical Buyer, you are responsible Procures basic goods and services, obtains quotation, develops proposals and/or negotiates contracts of low to moderate value/risk consistent with customer requirements. You will participate as individual contributor to the team and develop / implement recommendations, demonstrate initiative, and contribute to problem solving.

You are responsible for operational measurements and carry out variety of complex activities according to plan within broader area of responsibility, analyses problems and decision making affecting own work.

IBM is seeking highly motivated individuals with comprehensive commercial procurement and client facing or consulting experience to join our team of procurement professionals. Specifically, we are looking for procurement professionals to join IBM's Global Procurement team in support of IBM Procurement Services business area, servicing IBM's external clients.

Responsibilities:

·  Responsible for supporting procurement activities within the region or geography.
·  Works under the guidance of IBM's worldwide procurement teams, Interfaces with suppliers on issues that affect supplier operations and IBM strategic supply issues.
·  Implement supply chain initiatives that provide end-to-end integrated opportunities for efficiency.
·  Responsible for establishing, executing and tracking project plans, utilizing fundamental project management techniques, within specific areas of responsibility.
·  On higher risk contracts, may work under the direction of more senior representatives.
·  Communicates/negotiates with supplier and customer counterparts and management.
·  Assists in the development of business strategies to accomplish business unit objectives.
·  May also participate in procurement activities in support of multiple business units. Monitors industry to maintain awareness of current practices.
·  Performs low to moderate risk/complexity supplier evaluations and selections.
·  Assists in supplier evaluations and selections of a moderately complex nature.
·  Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Minimum 5-7+ years of Procurement Outsourcing experience including vendor negotiation
·  Willing to work in “Rotational Shift”
·  Working knowledge of a global procurement strategy within a large corporation and have a background in one or more of the following indirect categories: Professional services, Facilities, MRO
·  Prior experience with Operations Buyers, Client procurement organization, Country Sourcing buyers/Tactical buyers, Suppliers, Requesters, Accounts payable, Management (Direct), Team leaders.
·  Ability to apply analytical skills, numerically astute with strong demonstrated problem-solving abilities
·  Proficient to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders and suppliers
·  Expertise to apply collaboration/teaming techniques, satisfaction skills / client facing skills to Ability to complete staff-work to a high standard
·  Proven ability to perform in matrix organization, time management, prioritise tasks and achieve set targets
