Job description
IBM's Supply Chain Packaging Engineering team, located in Rochester, MN, is seeking a Packaging Engineer responsible for development, design, test, and implementation of product packaging. This position will involve working with IBM's newest technology and a great deal of collaboration across many other internal as well as external teams particularly development and manufacturing. This position involves working extensively in an office as well as laboratory environment(s).
Required Skills:
· Packaging design software and creation of prototype designs
· Test aptitude
· Ability to work independently in a laboratory environment
· Ability to recognize improvement opportunities particularly to reduce cost
· Effective communication (verbal and written) to internal and external customers and peers
· Flexibility in a face paced, demanding work environment
· Effective time management to meet new product timelines and assigned deliverables independently
