Introduction
Our OpenShift on Z team is responsible for enhancing and maintaining the key components of the stack Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform Architecture - OpenShift Container Platform (developer services), OpenShift Kubernetes Engine (Cluster services). We tightly collaborate with the Redhat and international development teams of IBM (e.g. hardware and firmware development), the global maintainers of Open Source communities.

Your Role and Responsibilities
Our OpenShift on Z team is responsible for enhancing and maintaining the key components of the stack Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform Architecture - OpenShift Container Platform (developer services), OpenShift Kubernetes Engine (Cluster services). We tightly collaborate with the Redhat and international development teams of IBM (e.g. hardware and firmware development), the global maintainers of Open Source communities.

Your responsibilities will comprise of design and specifications for new enhancements, coding (including test automation), problem determination and bug fixing, performance analysis, and solving client problems. Your attendance at Open Source community meetings is recommended and supported, and client facing activities (e.g. client support, providing lectures at conferences) are possible.

In this job offering, we are specifically looking for a new team member to grow our OpenSHIFT for Linux on Z Development Squad. Hands-on exposure to OpenSHIFT would be desirable, Exposure and contribution to OKD would be an asset. Your job would involve ensuring OpenSHIFT works on Linux on Z Arch.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  7 - 9 years of development experience with 4+ years of hands-on experience in writing code either in GoLang or Python
·  2-3 years of experience in leading and Technially managing the teams and deliverables.
·  Strong Knowledge of Linux Operating Systems
·  Ability to read and debug code the written in the Go, Python and C languages.
·  SME on Containers, Kubernetes and Virtualization technologies (zVM, KVM).
·  Experience in desing and development and leveraging OpenSHIFT framework , Operator framework, RAS capabilities
·  Hands-on experience with installation, configuration of OCP cluster.
·  Experience with CI tools (Tektron), Git/Github/Gitlab
·  Working with K8S, OpenSHIFT community or related experience in Management Tools.
