The Role:
We are currently looking for a suitable candidate to be part of an innovative and ambitious team with a prestigious group of academic and industrial European network of partners. The objective is to exploit and deliver bleeding edge innovation in the areas of 5G networking, big data processing, machine learning, data analytics and computing. The ultimate objective is to enable improved network management for 5G solutions.

The Person:
A person who can demonstrate leadership, identify gaps in the state of the art and is a self-starter is required for this role. A high level of initiative and personal drive is required as this will be an environment where you will be joining the project at ground level and helping to lead the design and shape of technical solutions as well as implementing them. Excellent verbal and written communication is required with fluency in English as well as report writing and documentation skills.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  BS or MS in Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunications, RF Engineering, Computer Science or related engineering subjects
·  Background of communication theory, information theory, applied math, signal processing, probability and random processes (at least one of them)
·  System engineering knowledge in telecom industry
·  Knowledge of 5G architecture, mobile edge computing and IoT applications etc .
·  Knowledge of 5G (or similar) RAN node management and onsite operation
·  Previous experience in defining and supporting 5G (or similar) use cases in the living lab environment by doing new feature testing and validation (important)
·  Familiar with optimization of 5G (or similar) networks to troubleshoot, improve and demonstrate KPIs defined in the project (important)

·  Previous developer experience in a cloud-based environment (e.g. IBM Cloud) would be a plus.
·  Experience in 5G (or similar) communication system design, testing & validation would be a plus.

·  Familiarity working with European funded framework projects e.g. Horizon 2020.
