Job description

Introduction
As a Hardware Developer at IBM, you’ll get to work on the systems that are driving the quantum revolution and the AI era. Join an elite team of engineering professionals who enable IBM customers to make better decisions quicker on the most trusted hardware platform in today’s market.

Your Role and Responsibilities
This role is for an ASIC designer contribute to the development of advanced high-performance circuits in advanced node and exploratory technologies. We focus on circuit designs that enable the creation of differentiated solutions for a range of communication and computation challenges. Key areas of interest include analog, mixed-signal, and custom digital integrated circuit design applied to problems in data communications, wireless, or data conversion arenas. Because the work will involve exploratory technologies, it requires a deep understanding of the interaction between circuits and devices, and experience with developing EDA solutions for such technologies is a plus. Past experience in exploratory technologies such as non-conventional CMOS, heterogeneous integration, or superconducting circuitry, is desirable (but not required), as is experience in high speed integrated circuit test. Understanding of low power RF circuit design and power constrained applications is also a benefit. The candidate should have strong hands-on lab skills as they will be involved in all aspects of the project from concept to system integration and bring up. A track record of completing complex integrated circuit designs demonstrating innovative elements is also desirable.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Masters Degree or Equivalent Experience
·  ASIC Logic Design and Layout
·  ASIC Tools and Fabrication
·  Mixed Signal Analog and Digital Design
·  Test and Bring-up

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
We are looking for a team player with strong writing and presentation skills, able to create and communicate technical ideas, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team. This job will entail driving the development of new intellectual property. The candidate should have experience with relevant analog/mixed development tools, such as Cadence/Synopsys suites for custom design, analog simulation, physical verification, and digital implementation. Tape-out management and foundry interaction experience is a plus, as is a familiarity with design-for-test methodologies. The candidate must be able to work successfully with a diverse and dynamic team of both operational and technical personnel, collaborate with team members, work independently, and take own initiative

Make every future a success.
