Job description
The successful candidate will provide meteorological services for a number of platforms such as Energy, Aviation and Media. Comprehensive training and mentoring will be given in The Weather Company (TWC) IBM's proprietary systems and applications and TWC IBM's advanced forecast models and workstation technology as well as training towards the EWINS (Enhanced Weather Information System) certification for aviation. You will participate in daily Forecast Centre weather briefings and discussions involving European and sometimes global synoptic scale trends, model bias and expected developments in the short, medium, sub-seasonal and seasonal forecast periods. You will be part of a larger global team and actively collaborate with them on any developing or potential severe weather events including severe thunderstorms, snow, ice and wind/tropical systems. Using the TWC Max and HoTL tools you will create graphical products to help explain and compliment verbal and written forecasts. You will deliver operational forecast content consistently and accurately within rigid time constraints
The position will be full time at 40 hours per week working in a flexible shift schedule covering 24 hours, seven days per week. You will be comfortable participating fully in a 24 hour rotating shift pattern. Preference for candidates who can speak a European language ie German, French or Spanish.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
· You should show a deep interest in weather and have a good first degree or higher degree in Meteorology, 2:1 or above
· Previous operational forecasting experience preferred, and experience in the Aviation sector is desirable.
