Junior Software Tester

Job description

IBM is seeking a talented SW tester to ensure flawless SW development and live cycle management for one of the most visited IBM web-application. IBM Knowledge Center, an industry-leading information delivery mechanism, has already garnered the largest percentage of page views on ibm.com, receiving over 1M new visitors per week, over 5M page views a week, and 80M views per year. The SW tester will collaborate with Application Developers, DevOps engineers, Designers, Accessibility experts, Translation, and Product Management. The KC team crafts and hones application functionality and interface to meet stakeholder requirements and maintain iconic user experience.

Job description, responsibilities, and duties:

We are looking for an SW tester who understands modern web technologies and has hands-on experience with SW testing in a continuous development environment. As the SW tester, you will perform all kind of manual tests and/or set up applications for automated testing. You will analyze test results, propose solutions and make decisions about next steps in the SW deployment process. You will be responsible for flawless production deployments and SW live-cycle management.

Job Description:
Help deliver the strategic platform to support IBM's enterprise content strategy through the following activities:
- Work closely with the development team to qualify and test software components associated with our Knowledge Center releases
- Understand business requirements and help to resolve issues with software component deliveries
- Collaborate with the DevOps team to perform testing in several development environments (test, pre-prod, staging, …)
- Collaborate with a world-wide client community to promote high tooling performance, reliability, and ease of use

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- At least 1 year of development or testing experience
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix, command-line tools
- Working knowledge server-side testing or development
- Working knowledge of test methodology and tools
- Excellent English communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Starting salary from 1400 Eur (depends on your previous experience and language proficiency)
