We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated junior RPG Developer. Someone who wants to become a technology expert capable of building "state of the art" client solutions in our leader organization. You'll join our talented team in Brussels, and will work in the IBM offices as well as on clients site. Curious to learn more?

Your role

As development specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting IT components and interfaces and have a broad understanding of various coding methodologies, testing practices & tools and know when to apply each method to achieve the desired outcomes.

You will enjoy the diverse challenges, customers, work environments and schedules that come with delivering innovative projects. New team members will be joining customer projects to deliver value contributing to the implementation of tailor-made IT and business solutions.

You will collaborate together with talented IBM colleagues and teams around the world, which allows you to build a strong network for your further career in our innovative organization.

Your key missions

·  Develop optimized solutions, focusing on RPG language, according to the architectural components defined by the consulting and architecture team.
·  Collaborate with the team of IBM consultants and architects.
·  Continuously grow your skills to keep track with the cutting-edge technology.
·  As a member of our Agile team, be proactive and emulate your colleagues to reach the team goals at every sprint.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Bachelor in IT / Computer Science or equivalent experience;
·  2-3 years of experience in developing programs using RPG technology;
·  Adaptable, able to pick up new technologies and design techniques. Motivation to grow skills in IBM technologies;
·  Good understanding of how IT solutions are working; understand how to translate business requirements outlined by the solution owner into technical interfaces;
·  Understanding of Data Modelling (UML, sequence diagrams, activity diagrams…);
·  Self-motivated, detail oriented and organized;
·  Authentic standout colleague;
·  Superb communication skills with proven problem-solving experience (the consultative approach), strong collaborative and presentation skills;
·  Ability/desire to work in a varied, fast-paced environment;
·  Fluency in English and Dutch or French is your native language.
