We are currently recruiting Java Application Developers for an 18 months fixed term contract, based in Sydney.

The Application Development team is responsible for supporting the full life cycle of enhancements. As a Lead Application Developer your responsibilities include –

·  Develop and direct software technical design procedures, programming, and documentation.
·  Define the interface specifications, create the interface contracts, the messaging format & the activation specifications.
·  Analyse software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
·  Assist business analyst to identify impacts to other areas of system because of requirement to change behaviour of system in one part.
·  Integrate applications by designing and developing web services, database architecture, queues and server scripting. 
·  Package application for deployment, create/update/maintain build scripts & produce deployment, run book, back up and implementation plans.
·  Apply versioning, revision control and perform code branching and code merge for each release.
·  Performance/Load Testing to collect statistics related to the responsiveness, stability, scalability, availability, reliability and resource usage.
·  Monitor and manage the performance and availability of the application with the goal of detecting and diagnosing application performance problems to maintain expected level of service. To ensure success in the role you will possess the following skills –
·  Extensive experience with Java EE, Spring, Hibernate, Webservices (SOAP + REST), EJB, Angular JS
·  Expert in REST API, Microservices, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Eureka/Consul, Zipkin
·  Very much hands on Docker, Kubernetes, cloud based solutions (AWS, GCP, IBM, Azure)
·  Experience with Git/BitBucket, Maven, Sonar/Fortify, SOAP UI, Postman, Jenkins/Bamboo, LISA (service virtualization), Cara, Eclipse, IBM RAD, any application monitoring tool, is required.
·  Comfortable with IBM Websphere Application server, Tomcat, ESB, IBM MQ, JIRA, Confluence.
·  Certified Java practitioner preferred.
·  SAFe Agilist certification required as per Westpac's request. Compensation package from $71 400 (full-time equivalent inclusive of superannuation) and will be determined based on successful candidates relevant skills and experience.
