Your Role and Responsibilities

IBM Quantum pushes the boundaries of quantum computing on every level of the stack. The internship of 3-6 months in 2024 helps to explore how to make these capabilities broadly available and accessible to users and clients, through innovating and improving how our services and APIs and be used. This includes the integration into the IT environments and compute platforms of clients.Tasks include the refinement of concepts to integrate IBM Quantum services into IT environments and compute environments. These environments range from commercial client scenarios where end users or applications consume quantum capabilities and specific capabilities (e.g. observability) are required, to scientific HPC environments where seamless integration into cluster environments is beneficial. You will collaborate with architects and developers to align the work with the overall program.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
* graduate or undergraduate student
* architectural thinking
* experience in Cloud platforms and developing for it
* experience in programming languages like Javascript, Go or python
* familiar with build platforms, container technologies and git

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
* effective communication skills
* familiar with HPC environments and concepts
* understanding of microservices architectures, design patterns, resiliency techniques, and optimizations
* experience with API platforms or developing API platforms
* familiar with observability tools and backends for it
