Your Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Web Information Architecture leader with unique talent for technical architecture, complex navigation schema design, and library management. This senior member in the IBM.com design organization will lead our information architecture and UX research practices and manage a globally distributed team of experts responsible for crafting intuitive and efficient digital experiences through strategic planning, organization, and implementation of information architecture principles.
Key Responsibilities:

Information Architecture Development: Design and develop comprehensive information architecture strategies for web projects, ensuring logical and user-friendly organization of content.

Technical Architecture Expertise: Collaborate with development teams to translate information architecture concepts into scalable and efficient technical solutions, leveraging your expertise in web technologies and frameworks.

Navigation Schema Design: Create clear and intuitive navigation schemas that enhance user journey and facilitate seamless navigation across digital platforms.
·
Library Management: Establish and maintain centralized digital libraries, ensuring consistent taxonomy, metadata standards, and efficient content retrieval mechanisms.

User Research and Testing: Conduct user research, usability testing, and analysis to inform information architecture decisions and refine navigation structures based on user feedback.

Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with cross-functional teams including designers, developers, content strategists, and stakeholders to align information architecture efforts with project goals and objectives.

Documentation and Training: Document information architecture guidelines, standards, and best practices, and provide training and support to internal teams as needed.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field.

Proven experience as an Information Architect or similar role, with a strong portfolio demonstrating successful web projects.

Deep understanding of web technologies, content management systems, and development methodologies.
·
Experience in managing websites on the Adobe Experience Manager platform or similar web content management system.
·
Expertise in creating and implementing navigation schemas, taxonomies, and metadata standards.
·
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
·
Experience with user research methods, usability testing, and data-driven decision-making.
·
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear and actionable solutions.
·
Proficiency in tools such as Axure RP, OmniGraffle, Visio, or similar information architecture and wireframing tools.
