Position Overview
The Research Analyst provides analytic, research, and client support as part of a team that delivers health care information and consulting services to government or commercial clients. The Analyst participates in the development of new business proposals and assists on other on-going project work as needed.
Essential Responsibilities
· Perform data investigation on diagnostic, descriptive, and statistical output during course of research project.
· Draft sections of client deliverables and/or project proposals as directed by Research Leader
· Research and extract data from various sources to support the development of research proposals, project analysis plans, and project specifications. This may include literature review, accessing a variety of publicly available coding systems, and using Watson Health tools.
· Work closely with project team members (Programmer/Analysts, Research Leaders, Research Assistants, and Statisticians) to complete research projects that will meet clients' needs.
· Assist with the development and documentation of file specification and analytical results.
· Format deliverables for client presentation (reports, technical memoranda, posters, podium presentations, and manuscripts).

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Position Requirements
· Must be able to work on site in Raleigh Durham, NC, Research Triangle Park (RTP), NC, Cambridge, MA, Santa Barbara, CA or Bethesda, MD.
· 1+ years experience analyzing data
· Demonstrated quantitative abilities
· Problem-solving and analytical skills
· Relevant graduate degree or internships may substitute for work experience
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with individuals at various levels within the organization and external clients
· Good critical thinking, questioning, and listening skills; excellent attention to detail
· Time management skills for managing multiple tasks simultaneously, while completing work within allocated time frames
· Intermediate experience using Microsoft Applications: Word & Excel
