Job description

This role leads a Global Headquarters team for the Campaign Management Discipline. Campaign Managers own the lead-generation strategy and execution, and are accountable for campaign performance and revenue goals. At IBM they do so by bringing a specialist, cross functional team together to collaborate on the creation and execution of engaging and compelling customer journeys.

IBM's Campaign Managers bring an audience-first approach to planning and overseeing the campaign strategy, designing the customer journey throughout the life of a project. Key activities include developing, leading and executing an integrated end-to-end campaign strategy to meet campaign goals and objectives within scope and budget.

The CHQ team set strategy and standards for technology and capabilities needed for the future.
Key Goals:
Raise the skill level of Campaign Management professionals across all of IBM marketing with clear and measurable progress.
Lead the effort to significantly improve the quality and effectiveness of IBM demand generation campaigns
Build and maintain strong working relationships with other marketing disciplines – driving teamwork and effectiveness. Key to redefine roles and responsibilities across the marketing teams, and between global and local teams.

Core Responsibilities:

Strategy:

Be a thought leader in campaign management. Know where the profession is today and where it is heading. Share that expertise with Marketing professionals around the world.
Enable and drive the strategy and necessary collaboration across Business Units and Markets to effectively execute the best possible IBM campaigns.
Increase the understanding and appropriate implementation of campaign management across different delivery models including SaaS, on-premise, and services.
Communicate the strategies that drive the work of the discipline, with a clear vision and plans for IBMers to rally around (from community building to best practice sharing to education and activation).

Standards:

Define and communicate the standards for campaign management. Create clarity around what excellence looks like from strategies to plans to execution and optimization.
Aggressively enforce those standards, calling out when we fall short and celebrating and sharing out our best work.
Drive improvements in processes and tools for planning and automation, which support simplification, standards in execution and reduce time to market.

People:
Recruit new people and bring new campaign management skills into the discipline.
Develop and build campaign management skills across the discipline.
Ruthlessly evaluate talent and take actions to remove weak performers and promote and progress talent.
Continue the development of the community of campaign managers – sharing best practices, solutions to issues, and engagement across BU's and Markets.
