Guardium Build and Release Engineer

Job description

The Guardium Build and Release Software Engineer will be responsible for full support of the Guardium development environments including but not limited to Make, Eclipse, Ant, Maven along with a number of build, patch and installation scripts. The position will require the candidate to maintain and improve upon the patching and build system. Also to design, develop and maintain a branching strategy as well as support a number of patch branch strategies across multiple Major releases. This position will work on the Build and Platform engineering team with the Guardium Littleton, Massachusetts team and will report to the Build and Platform development manager.

Responsibilities
·  Responsible for managing the software builds and patches across multiple concurrent releases.
·  Responsible for the design, development and automation of build scripts, patching mechanisms and some installation procedures.
·  Responsible for the design and development of the product release branching strategy, including design, implementation and maintenance of that strategy
·  Works closely with Automation teams to ensure high quality IBM Guardium release standards.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Expert in Linux systems with hands on experience in Bash/Shell, Python, and Perl scripting languages.
·  Expert in GIT based Source Control Systems such as GitLab and GitHub; Fluent in branching strategies. Knowledge with SVN based source control systems is desirable
·  Working knowledge in continuous integration, continuous delivery and continuous deployment/zero downtime deployments and associated tooling such as Travis or Jenkins.
·  Working knowledge of C and/or Java program languages
·  Two or more years of relevant experience
