Experienced Mainframe IMS System Programmer

Job description

Looking for IBM Information Management System (IMS) experts who would like to participate in comprehensive projects. The job role to be fulfilled after the project is: Mainframe Systems Programmer
System programmer should be self-sufficient and able to perform the majority of the tasks involved in his or her role without assistance.
In case you have no mainframe and IMS skill after joining participation on internal courses organised by IBM.

Skills to have:
-Proficient with the IBM Information Management System environment.
-Knowledge of IMS Database System and the IMS Transaction Manager (IMS/TM). Explore how these facilities work together and how application programs interact with them in today's complex enterprise systems.
-Application deployment techniques and procedures
-Installation, patching, configuring and problem determination for IMS.
-Experience and capability in dealing with vendors for problem determination.

Accountabilities after the project:
-Building and management of IMS in a highly available environment on the Mainframe platforms.
-Work with and manage an IMS system: Database (DB), Database/Data Communications (DB/DC), or Database Control Subsystem (DBCTL).
-Systems/Applications Management.
-Troubleshooting/Performance Tuning of IMS.
-Ensuring environment has no single points of failure and is operationally robust (housekeeping etc) .

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

High School Diploma/GED or Technical Diploma in and/or interest in Information Technology
English: at least intermediate level
Work experience with Mainframe
Working knowledge of programming languages used on Mainframe
