Business Development Representative working with Marketing and Sales to drive Systems and Storage Pipeline for the IBM Systems Business. The Digital Development Rep (DDR) attends Events on behalf of IBM and works with IBM Brand and Channel Partners.
· Execute inbound/outbound calling campaigns to uncover interest in IBM Systems Offerings and generate qualified sales leads in response to marketing initiatives that can include hardware, software and services solutions.
· Call contacts to discuss their business environment, identify their IT needs, determine the most appropriate IBM solution, and engaging an appropriate IBM sales channel to own and close.
· Actively involve in marketing planning and timely feedback customers' comments to marketing teams.
· Follow up with opportunity owner to push leads progression until closure.
· Timely input and work with OO to update opportunities/key information in CRM.
· Develops and maintains technical sales knowledge of offerings in the specialty, along with financial and selling skills, to effectively handle routine assignments and to assist on more complex assignments, for opportunities within the territory. Demonstrates required proficiency levels for technical and sales skills, as defined for incumbents in this position.
· Develops an understanding of sales processes, techniques and tools in the specialty, for the assigned territory. Examples of these techniques include, but are not limited to, opportunity / territory management, cost justification, acquisition management, services business management and channel management processes. With guidance, can apply these to specific customer situations.
· Develops the ability to plan and execute an effective sales call, either individually or with others.
· Acquires new information on selling techniques or specialty offering capabilities quickly, to enhance sales and professional effectiveness.
· For selected offerings within the specialty, differentiates them from competitive alternatives.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise:
· Relevant sales experience and technical aptitude.
· Basic understanding of the depth and breadth of IBM's portfolio.
· Ability to engage new/competitive clients in value-add business conversations
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with clients(internal and external) at all levels of the organization.
· Ability to actively listen and determine needs.
