Job description
IBM Systems has openings for Hardware and Software Development Engineers to design and develop the hardware and semiconductor designs that comprise our industry-leading IBM Systems products. We are a world-class development team that pioneers innovations for the cutting-edge microprocessors and hardware used in IBM Systems including IBM Storage, IBM Power Systems and IBM Z mainframes.
Development engineers participate in many aspects of the development and design process, such as:
• Custom circuit layout
• Standard cell library design
• Analog design, especially high-speed serial link design
• Array and Register File design
• EDA design methodology and tools
• Digital physical design
• Logic design and functional verification
• DFM, DTCO and Foundry interface
Ideal candidates will possess demonstrated skills in one or more of the areas listed above and have excellent communication and teaming skills.
Required Professional and Technical Expertise:
• Fundamental education in hardware and/or software design
• Demonstrated experience in designing hardware and/or software in leading edge semiconductor designs
• Strong communication skills
