Database Administrator DB2 LUW
·  Design and implement processes and procedures to reduce and eliminate database outages and downtime. Optimize databases for maximal performance, scalability, flexibility, and reliability
·  Available to support Db2 24x7 on call duties on a rotating basis
·  Lead troubleshooting efforts
·  Work closely with Support and Development application teams to advise regarding Db2
·  Complete performance monitoring and tuning to maintain maximum performance, review and implement backup and restore strategies
·  Monitor database logs for hardware, memory or disk space/ capacity issues and take appropriate action.
·  Implement database parameter and configuration changes for optimal performance with the host operating system.
·  Responsible for capacity planning, roadmap development, architecture and integration design
·  Ensure the database environment remains in compliance with DB2 license agreements
·  Coordinate the resolution of DBMS problems that require DBMS vendor intervention
·  Document, Plan and Test HA/Disaster Recovery procedures.
·  Design, implement and maintain database security strategies that provide the appropriate level of security for users and applications.
·  Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Qualifications
·  Certified on: Db2 v11.1 DBA + Db2 v11.1 Fundamentals (LUW)
·  Bachelor or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or relevant field of study
·  Minimum of 7 years of Database Administration on Distributed/UNIX platform
·  Knowledge of DB2 client interfaces, DB2 GUI tools
·  Proficiency in troubleshooting, fine-tuning, and scalability techniques
·  Extensive experience in availability and capacity monitoring, implementing replication, backup and recovery strategies, and performance tuning DB2
·  Organization Skills
·  Analytical & Problem Solving Skills
·  Good Communication skills
·  Able to work independently, under pressure and sometimes at night
·  Ability to work with remote teams in a global organization
·  Team player
